Tutorial by Anthony Hom

1
From zero to hero – making a Super Gameboy 2 chiptune ready.

The components of the mod are:

* A Super Gameboy 2
* RCA Phono Jacks
* 30ga wrapping wire
* Soldering Iron
* Drill

2
Remove 5 of the proprietary Nintendo screws with a tri-wing screwdriver.

3
Remove 2 phillips head screws to get the circuit board out of the case.

4
We’ll be focusing on two seperate areas on the underside of the SGB2 circuit board: 1.) Stereo Audio 2.) Ground

5
Capacitor 8 and capacitor 9 is where we’ll tap in for stereo audio output.

6
We will need to add a dab of solder to the right side of capacitor 8 (right audio channel) and capacitor 9 (left audio channel)

7
We will be using a contact pad on the right side of the circuit board to get a clean ground signal.

8
Drill appropriately sized holes for the RCA jacks.

9
This RCA jack came with the following components.

10
Mount the RCA Jacks.

11
When you mount the RCA jacks, have the grounding tabs face each other or have them line up.

12
You will need to solder the two grounding tabs to each other.

13
Add solder to the ground pad on the circuit board.

14

15
Carefully add solder to the right side of both capacitor 8 and capacitor 9.

16
Solder your wires to the circuit board. Here I am using 30ga wrapping wire.

17
Wire up the RCA jacks.

18
Voila! Do work. Make music.
