Frontlighting
Different to the DMG, the colour gameboy needs to be frontlit. The previous common way to do this, was to take out the frontlight from a Gameboy Advance SP and seat this in the front instead. This was performed by hacking out the lip of plastic below the screen and soldering to the board. As far as I can see, Bibin is attributed with this mod.
Kitsch-bent
As of Jan 2014, Kitsch has his own replacement Frontlight kit, with minimal modding on the case and easy solder points.
